Around two weeks ago,
Yamaha Japan had recalled around 1500 units of the YZF-R3 motorcycle. The manufacturer had stated that the recall was being issued to fix an oil pump and transmission related issue. The Yamaha YZF-R3 is sold in India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit with the components arriving from Japan. This means the Indian R3 motorcycles were likely to suffer from the same issue.
