Volvo to sell cars with digital keys from 2017

Volvo Cars is aiming to become the world's first carmaker that sells cars without keys. From 2017, Volvo customers will be offered an application for their mobile phones that will replace the physical key with a digital key. This Volvo application enables the digital key on the customer’s mobile phone to do everything that a physical key currently does. It can carry out functions like locking or unlocking the doors or the boot and even starting the engine.
