The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 coupe is the futuristic electric car of your dreams

At Pebble Beach, Monterey, Mercedes after several teasers unveiled its all-electric Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 concept. The 6 meter long, flowing 2+2 seater coupe takes sleek design to a whole new level and is powered 4 motors that achieve 750HP that will also propel the car to 100kmph in under 4 seconds.  Coming from a luxury mark, it is indeed one the first Maybach vehicles that you would want to drive yourself, unlike the chaffeur-driven vehicles that the company has come up with in the past.  The retro-futuristic design, looks unique, and if you happen to love the old vintage cars with massive rear overhangs, this one will be the next poster up on your wall! There’s a large grille that sits on the front that was inspired by a pinstripe suit, while the flowing lines are mean to evoke a combined feeling of intelligence, hot passion and cool rationality. Inside, you will once again be treated to luxury with gull-wing doors that open to reveal the polished wood accents and 360 degree lounge-like interior.  The name of the car comes from the fact that it is a bit short of 6 metres long (5.7m). And since this is an electric, with the battery’s down on the floor and four permanent magnet synchronous electric motors each driving a single wheel, there’s also plenty of space.  At the front below the hood there’s plenty of space for two well-crafted Mercedes-Benz branded suitcases. Besides them is more space enough for an entire wardrobe (as the concept sketches point out). At the back sitting right behind the split rear window is some more space for Champagne bottles and a picnic basket. The design does take cues from older vintage Mercedes cars and also the IAA Concept that debuted last year in September.  According to the automaker, the 80kWh battery allows the vehicle to deliver a range of over 500km. And with that Mercedes also claims that using its 350kWh charging system will deliver a range of 100km with just 5 minutes of charging. The concept can also be charged wirelessly. According to Bloomberg, Mercedes Benz would not comment about whether they would produce a Mercedes-Maybach 6.
