The thing about concept automobiles is well, they are concepts. They usually don’t go into production and a more nimble version manages to reach the assembly line. The 2018 Vanguard Roadster however could become an exception.
FXE Industries is planning
on three sophisticated looking Vanguard models, Roadster, Cruiser, and Racer. The company is building them at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and will have a starting price of $29,995 (Rs 20 lakh approx). At the heart of the motorcycles is an S&S Cycle 1917cc 56-degree V-twin engine. But that is probably not the most attractive feature.
Just look at the design! It’s a superb futuristic design. Simplicity combined with modern engineering, one will definitely look twice. It features an enclosed, underslung exhaust and a plexiglas viewport let’s you see most of the mechanical parts. There is a single-sided swingarm controlled by an Öhlins shock that is visible through another viewport. The Roadster has a traditional, upright riding position, a long carbon fiber tank and a sleek textured seat. At the front end are 48mm Öhlins 48mm inverted forks in black along with clip-on style handlebars.
The front tire is a 130/60 18-inch Metzeler ME880 Marathon while the rear comes with an option of 240/40 or 200/50 18-inch Metzeler ME880 Marathon. Braking will be handled by 320mm semi-floating discs with Brembo 4-piston calipers and at the back there is a 245mm disc with a floating Brembo 2-piston caliper. The company is expected to launch this piece of exquisite machinery in 2018.
