We know that the 0-60 acceleration times of a Tesla Model S are impressive and can easily make for bragging rights in country like India (provided the quick charging stations come along). But with a new Easter egg update which was rolled out in December last year, MotorTrend managed to pull off something unheard of. A Tesla Model S setting the fastest 0-60 acceleration time for a production car ever. Yes, the Tesla Model S beat the Ferrari La Ferrari , a Porsche on a drag strip with a 0-60mph time of just 2.27 seconds! Tesla Motors’s Model S is now officially the quickest car from 0-60mph according to MotorTrend’s test claims. In fact, even Tesla’s Elon Musk tweeted out in what appears to be a big leap (and a push) for electric cars. The same was possible using the Ludicrous+ Easter egg, which allows for crazier acceleration times and was recently delivered in the last software update for the EV. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/828981873086865410 But that record only holds for the 0-60mph times as the both the La Ferrari and the Porsche 918 continue to speed up even after the 70mph mark, with the Ferrari picking up a tenth of a second faster than the Porsche 918 and the McLaren P1. Indeed this is possible because the hypercars pack in a lot more power and are indeed armed to the teeth with exotic lightweight materials, plenty more power and just two seats.
