The popular Tata Zest is now getting an upgrade in the form of a Zest Sportz Edition. The vehicle is basically the same Tata Zest that will now come with a dealer level accessory package that can be added to the standard car and will be priced at an additional Rs 20,000.

With two years of success and 50,000 Zests on the road, Tata Motors made the Sportz Edition official through a newspaper advertisement, first reported by Autosarena . The accessory package as per the advertisement includes a body kit with red skirts and body graphics, a blacked-out roof, contrasted red ORVMs. Add to this a chrome finishing, bumper protectors, door visors and moldings. The interiors simply get new upholstery.

What is good news is that this package can be added to any variant of the car and this can happen at dealership. What we are not sure about is whether alloy wheels projector headlamps, DRLs and LED tail lamps are a part of it when it comes to installations on models that have already been purchased.

The standard Tata Zest in available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol option features a 1.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that produces 88bhp and 140Nm of torque. The diesel Zest comes with a 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced engine that is available in two types of tuning. The first one produces 73bhp and 190Nm torque while the second 88bhp and 200Nm torque.

Transmission options include a 5-speed manual on both engines. However, the diesel tuned to produce 88bhp gets a 5-speed automatic transmission unit.
