Tata Motors to reveal a 1000bhp T1 Prima race truck at upcoming championship

Tata Motors will showcase an all new T1 Prima race truck, powered by 1,000bhp engine, during the fourth season of the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship. The engine of the all-new 1,000 bhp T1 race truck is being developed in collaboration with US-based Cummins Inc, enabling the company to set new benchmarks in the Indian commercial vehicles space, Tata Motors said in a statement. To be precise, the new engine a 12-litre ISGe unit that develops 1000bhp at 2,600rpm and 3,500Nm of torque at 1,600-2,200rpm. The new spec almost doubles on the power and torque ratings of the trucks participating in the fourth season of the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship. In fact, this is more in line with international truck racing standards like the teams that participate in the European FIA Truck Racing Championships. All of that power is transferred to the rear wheels using a 16-speed ZF gearbox. Together, the engine has been built to withstand the brunt of racing and is capable of catapulting this behemoth from 0-160kmph within 10 seconds. “Built with specifications similar to that of trucks that race globally, the vehicle was developed in a record time of 12 months ? a demonstration of teamwork, speed and capability,” Tata Motors Executive Director ?
