Tata Motors Tigor compact sedan launched in India; introductory price starts at Rs 4.7 lakh

After its unveil as the Kite 5 at the 2016 Auto Expo in Noida, Tata Motors has finally launched its Tigor compact sedan in India. The Tata Tigor has been given an introductory price of Rs 4.7 lakh and the range goes all the way up to Rs 7.09 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
The sedan is based on Tata Motor's hatchback, the Tiago and adds a boot at the rear along with sharper styling features. The interiors feature a design similar to the Tiago said for the bottom half of the dashboard that gets a separate colour treatment.
Also available inside, touchscreen infotainment system developed by Harman. If you are looking at the top end range, Tata will also throw in automatic climate control and rear view camera.
Coming to the engine options, the Tata Tigor get a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 85PS and 114Nm. The smaller 1.05-litre diesel engine produces 70PS and 140Nm.
The Tigor will be available in four trims. The XE, XT, XZ, XZ(O) and in six colour options.
The Tigor was showcased last year at the Auto Expo in New Delhi and was called the Kite 5 back then. The Tigor model name was announced earlier this month ago at its unveil at the Geneva Motor Show where Tata Motors also showcased its first connected sports car, the Tamo Racemo.
