Tata Motors has launched the AMT variant of the Tiago at Rs 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The Tata Motors Tiago Easy-Shift AMT comes only in the top of the line XZA variant. The vehicle packs in a Revotron 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 85PS and 114Nm. The AMT gets a manual mode and ‘Sports’ mode as well that will add some pep to your driving experience. The Manual Mode simply lets you flick the gear stick for those who want to have some fun. There are also the Eco and City modes available that change the engine mapping to go with either better efficiency or more power. The Tiago AMT also features the ‘creep’ feature that lets you crawl at slow speeds in slow-moving traffic. The same feature will also let you maneuver at slow speeds while searching for that perfect parking spot in a crowded lot. Its not something new, but has been available in a number of AMT models across manufacturers. Mr. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, “Since its launch in 2016, the TIAGO – our first product to be launched under the IMPACT design language; stood out as an attractive, innovative and feature loaded car. It is the most awarded car of the year with over 13 awards and counting. Besides, due to the continued good response to the TIAGO, we are witnessing a month-on-month growth in the immensely competitive hatchback segment. The TIAGO has been instrumental in the growth of Tata Motors’ brand across the PV market. In line with our commitment of launching products that cater to the need of the ever-evolving customer, we are happy to launch the TIAGO AMT today. We are confident that it will further expand the market for us.” [caption id=“attachment_330179” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] The Tata Tiago[/caption] The last we heard about the Tata Tiago, was when it received a price hike back in August last year. The price hike was a result of the introductory pricing that was removed. The vehicles price jumped up by Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000 depending on the model selected. Tata Motors is expected to launch its first hybrid sports car at the Geneva International Motor Show today.
The Tata Motors Tiago Easy-Shift AMT will only be available in the top of the line XZA variant.
