Suzuki Unveils All-New 2017 GSX-R1000, GSX-R1000R and GSX-R125 at Intermot

Suzuki has announced three new bikes at the ongoing International Motorcycle, Scooter and E-Bike Fair (Intermot) in Cologne. These include the 2017 edition of the GSX-R1000, GSX-R1000R And GSX-R125. The 2017 GSX-R1000 get a newly developed litre-class engine, improved aerodynamics, updated electronics, as well as shedding some weight. It is based on the concept that was revealed at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show last year and is said to be one of the best updated litre-class Gixxers since eight years. Suzuki has also used technology from MotoGP which makes this version quite interesting. Apart from the standard version, a track version called the GSX-R1000R was also revealed that churns out even more power. [caption id=“attachment_339320” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”]  Suzuki GSX-R1000R[/caption] The 1000cc four-cylinder engine on the Suzuki GSX-R1000 also gets Euro4 emission standards and comes with variable valve timing (VVT). The VVT uses ball bearings that move along the cam gear, and change their orientation as it spins faster. The engine length has also been reduced. Thanks to the improvement in the engine, the GSX offers 202PS of power at 13,200rpm along with 117.6Nm of peak torque available at 10,800rpm The bike also gets a new frame with a reduced width for improved aerodynamics and is 10 percent lighter than its predecessor. Other features include Showa’s Big Piston Fork suspension with matching shock absorber, a launch control system and a quick shift system. The electronics on the 2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and 1000R include a six-axis IMU, which brings a 10-level traction control system, Motion Track Brake System, stoppie control system, three riding modes, cornering ABS. Both the GSX-R1000 and R1000R will be going on sale in next year so you can expect the bike to arrive in India by mid-2017. It will come with Suzuki’s easy start feature and ABS as standard. The complete specifications are not yet confirmed though.. The new GSX-R125 will be going on sale with the Aprilia RS4 and Yamaha YZF-125 in Europe, with a low chance of the bike to come to India.
