Suzuki launches the 2017 GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R in India, prices start at Rs 19 lakh

The all new Suzuki GSX-R1000 and the GSX-R1000R have officially made their way to India and priced at Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. **Unveiled first** at the International Motorcycle, Scooter and E-Bike Fair (Intermot) in Cologne, Suzuki says that they are one of the lightest GSX-R bikes the company has ever made. [caption id=“attachment_339319” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”]  Suzuki GSX-R1000[/caption] The 2017 GSX-R1000 get a newly developed litre-class engine, improved aerodynamics, updated electronics and sheds some weight. It is based on the concept that was revealed at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show and is said to be one of the best updated litre-class Gixxers since eight years. Suzuki has also used technology from MotoGP, which makes this version quite interesting. The 1000 cc four-cylinder engine on the Suzuki GSX-R1000 gets Euro 4 emission standards and comes with variable valve timing (VVT). The VVT uses ball bearings that move along the cam gear and change their orientation as it spins faster. The engine length has also been reduced. Thanks to the improvement in the engine, the GSX offers 202 PS of power at 13,200 rpm along with 117.6 Nm of peak torque available at 10,800 rpm. Other features include a Showa Big Piston Fork suspension with matching shock absorber, a launch control system and a quick shift system. The electronics on the 2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and 1000R include a six-axis IMU, which brings a 10-level traction control system, Motion Track Brake System, stoppie control system, three riding modes and ABS. Apart from the above mentioned features, gets launch control, bi-directional quick shifter, Showa Balance Free suspension, cornering ABS and LED position lamps as well.
