For the first time we have some undisguised pictures of Skoda’s upcoming SUV called the Kodiaq. The company has put out teasers themselves and along with the images, we also have a teaser video that reveals the vehicle’s edge-happy design.
The images give us a glimpse of the front, rear, doors and wheels of the SUV. The design remains distinctly Skoda with the typical front grille and the ridges on the bonnet.
While the headlights look unique, its the tail lights that look really modern and edgy that seem to go perfectly with the overall design language of the SUV. A similar theme carries forward with the wheels as well.
The design look overtly aggressive and indeed reminds one of the fierce kodiak bear on all fours.
The Skoda Kodiaq will make its debut on 1 September in Berlin. It is expected to come in three TSI petrol and two TDI diesel engines options. Speculations point to an output of petrol engines from 125PS to 180PS while the diesels are expected to produce 150PS to 190PS. All engines are expected to be mated to a 6-speed manual and DSG dual-clutch automatic.
The SUV is expected to arrive in India in 2017. The same would arrive in CKD kits and will be Skoda’s flagship in the form of a luxury 7-seater SUV.
