Skoda Kodiaq Scout and Sportline variants announced ahead of Geneva Auto Show

Czech automaker Skoda has today announced two new variants of its Kodiaq SUV which was announced late last year. The full-size SUV which has yet to reach Indian shores has been announced in two trims called the Skoda Scout and the Skoda Sportline. Both models will make their world premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show in March. Beginning with the Skoda Kodiaq Scout, the Czech car manufacturer simply adds a couple of extras that lets the vehicle better its off-road capabilities. Some of the upgrades are visual, while the others add technology which give the bear some added grunt.   While the design of the chassis and body remains the same as the standard Skoda Kodiaq, we get some add ons with a touch of silver. Buyers will get silver roof-rails, a silver undertray from the front and rear bumpers, and side-mirrors with a silver housing. The side windows get mild tinting along with rear window, which protect from the glare of the sun.  Standard equipment now includes the Ambition trim level along with Off-Road Assist, a Rough-Road package with underbody and engine protection as well as a front and rear Park Assist. The standard equipment also includes Driving Mode Select (Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow), which can be used to control the engine, automatic transmission, power steering and air conditioning. Snow mode adjusts the ABS, ASR, ACC (where present) systems and the engine management to the specific conditions of the snow-covered or slippery road. The petrols include a 1.4 TSI 110-kW (150-PS) and a 2.0 TSI 132-kW (180-PS) while the diesels include a 2.0 TDI 110-kW (150-PS) and a 2.0 TDI 140-kW (190-PS) engines.  Next up is the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline which somehow reminded us of a Jaguar F-Pace R Sport edition with its blackened front grille, air dam, wheels and mirrors. The Sportline is a poser of sorts, a poster boy for the Kodiaq range that comes with 19-inch black alloy wheels as standard, which can also be upped with 20-inch wheel options.
