Renault is reportedly recalling about 50,000 units of is entry level small car, Kwid. The recall has been done to rectify a faulty fuel system and add a hose clip. The company is conducting a pre-emptive and voluntary inspection of all the 800cc engine equipped units that were produced between October 2015 and 18 May 2016. According to the company “As a proactive measure, a fuel hose clip will be added to these select cars along with the evaluation of overall functionality of the fuel system to mitigate any potential disruption of fuel supply. We are in the process of contacting customers, requesting them to come to dealerships to get their cars inspected.” It also said affected cars will be checked free of cost. While the company has not confirmed the numbers, sources say that only 10 percent of the recalled cars were likely to have the issue. Launched in September last year, the Kwid has been a good seller for the French company.. The 800 cc engine variant of the car is priced between Rs 2.64-3.73 lakh and the new 1000 cc engine variant was launched priced up to Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) back in August this year.
