Renault Captur spied in India during testing

With the SUV market booming, Renault has been successful with the Duster and is now looking at other price segments to step into. This time the automaker has its Captur crossover lined up which was recently spotted testing in India under heavy camouflage. The first images of this vehicle were reported by readers of the Indian Autos Blog. The Captur or Kaptur has been tipped to launch sometime in H2 2017 and features a new design that looks a bit more updated than the rounded Duster SUV. ![Renault Captur (5)](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Renault-Captur-5.jpg) The Euro-spec design has subtle lines, is more aerodynamic and is just 18mm longer than the Duster, while the wheelbase is identical. The front face features a sweeping air dam design that wraps around the front with LED DRLs at either end and a top grille that merges with the head lamps. The rear has some similarities with Renault Duster but with a more subtle design and wrap around tail lights.Renault Captur (2) ![Renault Captur (3)](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Renault-Captur-3.jpg) As per the specifications provided by Renault’s Brazil website, it features a 1.5-litre dCI four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 110hp and 245Nm of torque. The petrol variant when available should arrive with a 1.6-litre SCe 4-cylinder engine that should produce 120hp of power. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and is even available in an AMT option. The above specifications could differ from the one that will be launched in India.
