Production version of Tata Kite 5 compact sedan leaks, looks similar to the Tiago

Announced back at Auto Expo 2016, Tata is expected to announce its new compact sedan, Kite 5. The sub 4-meter sedan was appreciated at the initial preview and Tata Motor’s chief designer Pratap Bose had said that the production version would look exactly like the concept. Recent leaked photos have now revealed that the final production car is indeed quite similar. The car looks like a stretched version of the Tiago with a sleek notchback design along with a lip spoiler on the roof. It gets the same but blacked out headlights as the Tiago. The rear bumper also comes with large blacked out plastic area giving it a lower stance. The leaked car in the images does not have any badging, so there is a possibility that Tata Motors could change the name. On the inside the Kite 5 is expected to get a coloured touchscreen display with Tata’s ConnectNext. It will come with a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Prices are expected to be Rs 50,000-60,000 more than the Tiago which means somewhere around Rs 4.5-5.5 lakh. The new sedan is expected to launch with the Hexa in February or March 2017.
