As reported earlier, German car maker Porsche has officially launched the new Panamera Turbo in India. Priced at Rs 1.96 crores (ex-showroom Delhi), it is the second generation that has launched in the country and also the fourth car launch for Porsche in 2017.
The all new Panamera Turbo has been built on the company’s latest Modularer Standard-Baukasten architecture which is designed for a front-engine, rear wheel drive layout. The engine is a 4.0 Litre V8 that produces 543 bhp and 770 Nm of torque. There is a new eight-speed PDK transmission as well. According to the company the new Panamera Turbo hit 0-100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds.
The new luxury sports saloon comes with a host of features as well as new design changes. On the outside, you see a new set of LED headlamps, interesting character lines on the sloping bonnet, new horizontal LED taillamps, a sculpted boot lid, a bigger rear bumper and a quad-exhaust system.
The interiors have also seen a dramatic changes. Firstly there is the new Porsche Advanced Cockpit which has a smartphone like UI, configurable LED screens and a new 12.3-inch touchscreen Porsche Communication Management (PCM 4.1) that also offers online services. The front seats have been upgraded to offer the best level of comfort and support when you are dodging those tricky corners.
The rear passenger seats get a fully integrated and connected infotainment system with removable displays attached to the headrest of the front seats. This connects to primary Porsche Communication Management (PCM) via WLAN so one can control the radio, media, navigation system, and a few other functions right from the back seat.
Finally there are some comfort features like adaptive cruise control, lane change assist with turn assist, Lane Keeping Assist including traffic sign recognition and cornering notification and ParkAssist, including a reversing camera and Surround View.
