The Tata Tiago’s sales figures became evident when the company recently commented on the hatchback’s price hike . If you were looking at something a bit more powerful, it’s better to slam the breaks on your purchase as a better, ‘performance-spec’ Tiago Plus model is supposedly headed our way. According to CarDekho, Tata Motors was supposed to bring in the Bolt Sport which was showcased back at Geneva Motor Show and the recent Delhi Auto Expo as well. But sales have not been too encouraging, which is why the company is instead planning on producing a performance-spec Tiago instead. As per the same source, it is expected to be announced this year itself, in even though Tata Motors has refused to comment on the same. What’s new? Well, big T could use the same engine which was expected to arrive with the Bolt Sport. It produces 85PS with a 3-cylinder ‘Revotron’ petrol engine that could be remapped to produce up to 120PS, a significant jump in power. The vehicle is expected to compete with the currently available Fiat Abarth Punto and the soon to come, Baleno RS by Maruti Suzuki.
Sales of the Tata Bolt have not been too encouraging, which is why the company is instead planning on producing a performance-spec Tiago instead.
