New Honda City facelift leaks ahead of official launch

Honda will be launching a facelift version of its popular sedan City in India next year. Before that the car is headed for Thailand for an official launch on 12 January. Some alleged images of the 2017 Honda City facelift have leaked giving a glimpse of the upcoming car. Since its a facelift version, most of the changes are cosmetic. The new 2017 Honda City will take over the new look adopted by the new generation of Honda cars, specifically the new Civic sedan. There is a new front grille that is larger and gets a Y-shape finish. The headlamps have been tweaked and now feature LED daytime running lights. The front bumper is now sharper around the air intake, along with black cladding around the fog lamps. ![2017-honda-city-facelift-1](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/2017-honda-city-facelift-1.jpg) The tail lights are pretty much the same but now gets LED inserts. The boot lid comes with an integrated spoiler along with a centre LED stop light. The rear bumper is also updated to have a more clean look. The side profile remains the same but there are new 16-inch alloy wheels. ![2017-honda-city-facelift-2](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/2017-honda-city-facelift-2.jpg) On the inside there an updated infotainment system with Android Auto and mobile mirroring app, leather seats and six airbags available as standard. Other changes are likely to include improved ground clearance of about 10 mm, as well as suspension setup for better ride quality. There won’t be any changes to the motor as it will retain the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol as well as the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines mated with a 5-speed manual and CVT unit, while the diesel gets a 6-speed manual unit.
