There’s still more than a month to go by, but the announcements have already begun to drop in. We are talking about the Geneva International Motor Show and it looks like its going to be a great one, looking at the bevy of vehicles that BMW just revealed today, that will be premiered at the upcoming auto show in Geneva.
BMW 4 Series
Set to make its first appearance at the Geneva Motor Show, the new BMW 4 Series features sharper design and a reworked chassis. There are redesigned air intakes and rear aprons, LED headlights and LED rear lights that are now standard on these models. The BMW 4 Series Coupe, the new BMW 4 Series Convertible and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe feature new electroplated elements, chrome applications and a high-gloss black finish for the centre console.
There’s an optional Navigation system Professional, where the menus for the iDrive operating system are now presented in tile form on the Control Display. Additionally the Multifunctional Instrument Display is now also available for the BMW 4 Series as well, but as an option.
The handling of the new BMW 4 Series is said to be stiffer making for a sportier ride. This BMW claims to have achieved with no associated loss of comfort. BMW also offers High-performance tyres as an option for the models at the top end of the power ratings.
And while it may seem like a lot there’s more.
BMW 5 Series Touring
Yes, there’s more where that came from. BMW also has a new 5 Series Touring. The Touring builds on the outgoing 5 Series, goes slightly larger with the exterior dimensions but adds a lot more space for passengers and luggage. The wider dimensions add 30 litres of additional space (a total of 1,700 litres). The 40:20:40 split/folding rear seat backrest can be lowered at the touch of a button in the load compartment. Tilt angle adjustment for the backrest is available as an option.
Sales of the new BMW 5 Series Touring commence in June 2017, there will be four engines from the BMW Group’s latest generation of power units to choose from. Two of these will be combined with the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system, which should make for an attractive deal with better control.
BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Black Edition
Yes, BMW has announced a new special edition of its i8 pug-in hybrid sports car called the BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Black Edition.
As of writing, details about this Frozen Black edition will only be announced at its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. A BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition is expected to be revealed later in the current year.
