The iconic brand ‘Mini’ is about to launch a new model for the the Indian market. The BMW owned car maker is expected to launch the all new 2016 Mini Clubman hatchback which will be the most expensive offering from the UK based company. Expected to have a price of Rs 40 lakh and above, the new Clubman will join the existing range of Mini cars in India including the Mini 3-door, Mini 5-door, Mini Convertible and the Mini Countryman. The premium hatchback was announced with two petrol and two diesel engines in the international markets, however India might get one each. mini-clubman (1) Now we can’t confirm exactly which variant will arrive in India but according to a report . However we can expect the 2-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 189bhp and 280Nm of torque. It will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with a front wheel drive. The diesel variant, which is expected to launch next year, could be the 2-litre variant. mini-clubman (2) Like all Minis, the Clubman is a luxury hatchback which features circular headlamps with chrome surrounds, a hexagonal contoured radiator grille and wide lower air inlets. At the back, there are large tail-lamps which are unique to this model along with a split open tail-gate. Inside, the Mini Clubman is all luxury with its leather wrapped upholstery and high-end materials. There is also a unique circular centre console for the infotainment system. It also offers a large boot space of about 360-litres which can be further expanded to 1,250-litre with the rear seats down.
