Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all new GLA Activity Edition which includes an all-wheel drive function. Priced at Rs 38.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the company has basically added its off-roading tech to its smallest SUV and also offers an off-road package as standard.

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all new GLA Activity Edition which now includes an all-wheel drive system. Priced at Rs 38.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the company has basically added its off-roading tech to its smallest SUV and also offers an off-road package as standard. The new Activity Edition gets special exterior changes that takes it a notch higher than the standard version which includes black decals on the door, chrome elements on the rocker panel, a new 18-inch alloy wheel design and a new Mountain Grey colour option. There are also special ‘Activity Edition’ badges around the SUV. In the power department, the new Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d Activity Edition now churns out 170bhp, which is 34bhp more than the standard variant. The torque too sees a bump of 50Nm which means a total of 350Nm. The 7-speed automatic transmission along with the four-wheel drive system makes the GLA go 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. The new off-road system which is offered as standard includes a raised off-road suspension. On the inside there is a 12V power socket in the boot, an electric tailgate and two-way adjustable rear seats that allow for different seating positions, an 8-inch media display, smartphone integration package, keyless entry, rain sensing wipers, special Activity Edition floor mats, and more. mercedes-benz-gla-220d-4matic (1) Talking about the new Activity Edition, Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO, Roland Folger said, “Mercedes-Benz’s SUV portfolio witnessed a strong demand since its introduction and grew over 100% in the last couple of years. The GLA was a key addition to our SUV portfolio as it not only generated volumes for us, but also opened the SUV segment to a much younger customer base.”
