The facelift version of the Mercedes-Benz CLA has been launched in India marking the company’s 12th launch in the country this year. While ex-showroom pricing is Rs 31.40 lakh, the petrol 200 Sport is being offered at Rs 33.68 lakh and the diesel 200 D Sport at Rs 34.68 lakh. There are subtle changes all around as the new CLA gets an updated set of headlamps that are full-LED along with minor updates to the daytime running light pattern. The bumpers are the same as the pre-facelift variant but now comes with a chrome accent lip running horizontally across the front as well as the rear bumper. The side profile has not changed and the 17-inch wheels have also been carried forward. Inside there is a new 8-inch screen replacing the 7-inch one which is also thinner giving it a more modern look. The infotainment system has been finally updated and now supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. Of course you get inbuilt smartphone integration with Bluetooth as well as GPS navigation. The instrument cluster has also been upgraded to a much clearer one with a set of sporty red needles. The new CLA comes in two motor variants, a CLA200 petrol and the CLA200d diesel. The petrol engine is a 2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit that produces 181bhp of power and 300Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine is a 2.2-litre turbocharged four cylinder unit that makes 134bhp with 300Nm of peak torque. Both engines come with a seven speed gearbox which is mated to a front wheel drive layout. As with the older versions, the CLA will compete against cars like the Audi A3 and the upcoming BMW 1 Series Sedan.
