Ciaz is currently the most successful sedan in its segment in terms of sales. According to reports a facelift version of the sedan is in the works and could arrive in April 2017.  It is also being said that the facelift version will be sold through the company’s premium car dealership Nexa. This means that the company wants to directly pit the car against competitors Hyundai and Honda, so we can expect some interesting upgrades. Currently the car sells through regular dealerships but this move could prove beneficial for the company. The company is also expected to launch the Ignis next year which again will be sold through Nexa. As for the Ciaz facelift, it is said  that more powerful variants of the sedan will be launched.  A new 1.6-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre petrol engine could be replacing the current 1.3-litre diesel and 1.4-litre petrol variants. Pricing could range between Rs 9 lakhs for the base model going up to Rs 11.5 lakhs for the top-end variant. The 1.6-litre diesel engine is the same DDiS 320 that is being offered on the S-Cross. It generates 118bhp and 320Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Maruti should retain the older 1.3-litre engine option while offering the more powerful engine on the high-end variants. The new 1.5-litre petrol engine will likely be Suzuki’s M15 unit that churns out 99bhp and 133Nm of torque.
