Toyota’s luxury car division, Lexus is officially going to make its way to India next year in the month of March. We reported the same earlier this month that the Japanese car-maker has plans to launch the brand in Q1 of 2017 and now thanks to a new report we finally have a confirmed launch timeline. While Toyota dealerships is already accepting bookings for Lexus cars in the country, it will be opening its first dealership in Mumbai called the ‘Lexus Boutique’ which will be located in the Taj within the vicinity of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The RX450h and the ES300h will be the first ones to come to India and which have already been spotted out on the roads with registered number-plates. Both of the cars offer a hybrid engine. Along with the Mumbai showroom, there will be three other showrooms one in Bengaluru and two in Delhi. The latest report also says that about 50 to 60 cars have already made their way to the country but these are being used for showcase and test drive purposes so as to create consumer interest. Probably these were the same ones that were spotted on the roads. The RX450h is expected to arrive with a Rs 90 lakh (ex-showroom) price tage while the ES 300h will cost close to Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). All cars will be direct imports thus the high pricing. By the end of 2017 the company is expected launch the LX450 diesel, LX 570 petrol as well as the NX. Lexus also plans to bring the LS600h by January 2018.
