Showcased as a concept about five years ago at the Auto China show, the Lamborghini Urus seemed like a completely new approach from the Italian car maker. At the time of showcase, Lamborghini CEO, Stefano Domenicali had confirmed that the production will begin from April 2017. We are approaching April and the latest scoop suggests that the company could reveal the production model at the upcoming Auto China show in Beijing. The concept looked brilliant and if the production version is anything like it, then we are sold. We recently saw a testing mule leak on the internet . It was covered in camouflage, pointing to the fact that the company is almost ready with the car. Image: pro-street.dk[/caption] The Urus is expected to be as sharp and angular as the concept and will be built on the Volkswagen’s MLB platform, which is also used on the Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7. It will be interesting to see how Lamborghini pulls this off as almost all of their cars are two-seaters. Putting rear seats wouldn’t be something new for the company, but it’s certainly rare enough to mark the occasion as something special. The car is expected to feature a turbocharged engine which is again something new for the Italian sports car maker as of now all Lamborghini cars have had a naturally aspirated engine. Rumours claim that it will be a 4-litre V8 with an AWD system. A hybrid version is also said to be in the works which could see the daylight in 2020.
