It’s the dawn of electric and hybrid vehicles and the latest automobile maker expected to announce an EV is Jaguar. A test unit of the alleged electric car coming from the car maker was recently spotted. The vehicle seems to be based on the F-Pace SUV however the grille opening at the front is different and the air vents around either side of the front bumper are also mission.
According to the photographer who took the spy shots , the vehicle was almost silent as it drove past him. The electric SUV could end up being called the J-Pace or the E-Pace and would take on the Tesla Model X and the Audi’s upcoming Q6 e-Tron. An electric sedan is also said to be in the works which is expected to come with a sleek, coupe-like design. The sedan will compete against the Tesla Model S as well as a similar electric sedans by other major brands.
Last year Jaguar and its sister brand Land Rover unveiled a series of technology demonstrators that came in mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric variants. The plug-in hybrid and electric demonstrators were based on Range Rover Sport SUVs, while the mild hybrid setup was based on a Range Rover Evoque. Since the unveiling, it is being said that Jaguar will focus on electric cars while Land Rover on hybrids.
