After the first details about the Hyundai Tucson coming to India leaked out in August, the Times of India now reports that dealers in Mumbai have already begun to accept bookings of the SUV even before its official launch in India. Dealers have started accepting bookings for an upfront payment of Rs 25,000 with the launch date in India set for 24 October. According to Z_igwheels_, the engine that powers the new Tucson will come from the Elantra sedan itself which produces 152PS of power and 192Nm of torque. ![Image: Hyundai](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Hyundai-Tuscon-interior.jpg) For the transmission, owners will have the option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The engine is expected to be tweaked while the mated gearbox will also feature revised gear ratios that should match the requirements of an SUV. Diesel buyers can expect a 2.0-litre engine that offers 185PS of power and 400Nm of torque. The same is expected to arrive with an automatic transmission. ![Image: Hyundai](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Hyundai-Tuscon-rear.jpg) Hyundai recently launched its  Creta 1st Anniversary Edition  back in the month of August. Soon enough Hyundai India announced that it plans to launch 4 SUVs in coming years to keep up with fast-growing segment and now we have the next-generation Hyundai Tucson SUV ready just in time for the festive season. Not much is known about the price of the Tucson, but expect it to be priced between Rs 20-25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
