Honda Cars India to launch new Honda City on 14 February; pre-bookings now open

Honda Cars India Ltd has made it official that its new facelifted Honda City will be launched in the country on 14 February. More importantly, customers who were awaiting the launch of the new facelifted car can now even get the vehicle booked as the pre-launch booking has gone live.

The new Honda City sedan can now be booked at authorized Honda dealerships across the country with a booking amount of Rs 21,000.

Talking about the launch of the new Honda City, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, President and CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The Honda City has been our most successful model ever since the start of operations in the country. It commands tremendous loyalty among customers and we are extremely excited to add another chapter to the success story of the model with the launch of the new Honda City 2017.”

Since this is just a facelifted version of the existing mode, the upgrades are only going to be cosmetic. The new City builds on the existing model and adds some new features, including a new LED package (front and rear lamps), an enhanced safety package and a new AVN system, among others.

According to previous leaks  customers will see an updated infotainment system with Android Auto and a mobile mirroring app. Leather seats and six airbags will be available as standard. Other changes are likely to include improved ground clearance of about 10 mm, as well as suspension setup for better ride quality.

There won’t be any changes to the motor as it will retain the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol as well as the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines mated with a 5-speed manual and CVT unit, while the diesel gets a 6-speed manual unit.
