The 188 bhp BMW 320d Edition Sport has been launched in India at a price of Rs 38.6 lakh

The BMW 3-series roster has now expanded to include the 320d Edition Sport, which will retail for Rs 38.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in India. [caption id=“attachment_3892425” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] The BMW 320d Edition Sport[/caption] The new car is powered by a 1,995 cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine that’s capable of putting out 188 bhp at 4,000 rpm. There’s a tonne of torque on offer as well, topping out at 400 Nm. This is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power is directed to the rear wheels only. As per BMW, the car will accelerate from 0-100 kph in 7.2 seconds and is capable of hitting a top speed of 250 kph. CarDekho reports that the vehicle’s efficiency is claimed to be 22.69 kpl. Differentiating the Edition Sport from the other cars in the lineup are “black touches to the front kidney grill”, sports seats, chrome on the console, red stitching on the steering wheel and paddle shifters, reports Autocar India. Autocar adds that the car is equipped with a sunroof and a 9-speaker audio system. The expected assortment of safety features including ABS, DSC, traction control, airbags, etc. are included. Four driving modes are supported and include a comfort and a Sport+ mode. At the asking price of Rs 38.6 lakh, the car sits near the middle of the current 3-series lineup.
