2017 Renault Captur launched in India from Rs 9.99 lakh; positioned as a premium offering over the Duster

After **opening its pre-bookings** not too long ago, Renault India has **finally launched** its all new SUV called the Renault Captur. The Captur has been launched in India at an attractive price tag that starts from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model. The same is visible from its sporty design that will appeal to a younger crowd. It clearly, does not look like a typical boxy SUV, with a sweeping roofline, pulled back LED head lamps and a wide air dam up front. There’s also class-leading ground clearance of 212 mm, partially thanks to those 17-inch alloy wheels, that also look the part. The sporty and attractive design is not just for looks as it also allows Renault to offer more interior space for its customers. Talking about the interiors, they seem to match the modern exteriors with a large touchscreen infotainment system that lets you plug in and control your smartphone via Apple’s CarPlay or even Google’s Android Auto. The 1.5-litre diesel motor comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and delivers 106 PS or power and 240 Nm of torque. There are other safety features like dual airbags, side airbags, and ABS with EBD, which should in theory make the Captur a rather safe car to drive.
