Honda Cars India has finally launched its facelifted Honda Brio in India with prices starting from Rs 4.69 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The hatchback will be available in four trims and is indeed a much-awaited refresh even though, it is not really a big one.
Borrowing plenty of elements from its Indonesian version, the 2016 Honda Brio does pack in some new design elements, while not much has changed on the outside, the interiors get a much-needed upgrade.
On the outside, the Brio now features a slightly sporty design. There is a revised air dam with that is now broken down into three parts the two on either side features a fog lamp.
The radiator grille also features an angular look with an updated design that now keeps the good old Brio looking refreshed in line with its other Honda siblings.
As mentioned in our previous article, the interiors have been revised drastically, but the dash and most other panels do come from the new Honda Amaze. You get steering mounted controls and touch sensitive air-conditioning controls as well. Other goodies include power windows, power steering. Once again however, Airbags along with ABS and EBD will only be available in the top spec variant.
The hatchback will be powered by the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that churns out 88bhp and 109Nm of torque. The engine would be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic unit.
Coming to pricing and trims, the E MT is priced at Rs 4,69,000, the S MT at Rs 5,20,000, VX MT at Rs 5,95,000 and the VX AT at Rs 6,81,600.
