Diamond merchant gifts 1200 Datsun Redi-GOs to employees in Gujarat

Getting a bonus at work is the best feeling ever, but what if the bonus is in the form of a car? That's exactly what employees of Hare Krishna Exporters in Surat got. Savjibhai Dholakia, owner of the diamond conglomerate, is well known for gifting his employees with cars and houses. As part of new year's bonus, he gave his employees about 1200 units of Datsun's Redi-GO out of which 650 units were delivered in a single day.

This doesn't come as a surprise as the 'tradition' started back in 2011 when Dholakia started gifting cars as well as flats to employees who meet their target sales. Just last year the billionaire gifted 400 flats and 1,260 cars to his employees on the occasion of Diwali. Spending as much as Rs 51 crore for the best performers of the company the ritual has been on for some years now.

This year Dholakia gifted the new Redi-GO to his employees who didn't received any incentives in the past year. The gifted Redi-GO's come with Indian tri-coloured livery across the body. Dholakia has got all the cars on down payment and is taken on loan for a period of five-years. However, the company stops the EMI if the employee parts way with the company in the next five-years, so its more of a give and take situation.

The Datsun Redi-Go is a compact hatchback featuring an 800 cc, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces peak power of 53bhp and peak torque of 72 Nm at 4386 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and offers a fuel efficiency of 25.17 kmpl. Pricing starts at Rs 2.38 lakhs (ex-showroom).
