Now that Toyota has thoroughly established its brand presence in India, it is time to step on the gas and introduce its premium brand, Lexus. Yes, Lexus the luxury brand from Toyota is headed to India and is expected to launch in Q1 2017. In fact Autocar India says that Toyota dealerships have already begun accepting bookings for Lexus vehicles in the country. Lexus is also going to launch its brand with the opening of a new dealership in Mumbai. The dealership called the ‘Lexus Boutique’ is said to be located in the Taj at Santacruz which in the vicinity of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The RX450 will arrive in a petrol RX450h and diesel RX450d model. While the ES300h that shares a lot with the Toyota Camry will be available in just one 2.5-litre petrol engine. All vehicles are expected to be imported from Japan via the CBU route. Chandigarh, Cochin and Chennai dealerships are expected to open up by the year end of 2017.
