Bajaj Auto has launched an update for the Pulsar 220F which is now BS4 norms compliant. The pricing starts at Rs 91, 200 ex showroom New Delhi making it about Rs 2,300 more than the 220. There are no changes to the motor so you get the same 220cc single cylinder DTS-i engine which is oil-cooled and now complies to the new BS4 emission norms. It produces 21bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 19.12Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. There is a telescopic suspension setup upfront and a 5-way adjustable shock absorbers at the back. The kerb weight remains the same at 150 kg and it has the same 15 litre fuel tank. A 260mm disc takes care of the braking at front while a 230mm disc brake is present at the back. The exterior doesn’t get a lot of changes just minor ones including a new matte black finish for the exhaust canister and a new backlit blue colour for the instrumentation cluster. Bajaj says that it has used a better quality material on the seats which should provide additional comfort and stability for the rider as well as the pillion. Bajaj has already released a teaser confirming major updates to the Pulsar range although that will be introduced next year.
