2017 KTM 390 Duke launched; priced in India at Rs 2.25 lakh

KTM has finally launched its 2017 390 Duke in India! The new Duke that can be differentiated with the split head lamp treatment is priced at Rs 2.25 lakh while the 200 Duke is priced at Rs 1.43 lakh. KTM also introduced a third motorcycle called the 250 Duke that sits between the 390 and the 200 and is priced at Rs 1.73 lakh. Booking for all three models are now open at dealerships today. **Announced** at the EICMA last year, new bike looks quite aggressive and offers a bunch of new features, mostly in the design department,  trying to mimic the 1290 SuperDuke. The fuel tank which is now larger (13.4 litres) and the headlamp now comes in a split styling.  The brakes also see an update with the front end having a 320mm disc while the rear gets a 230mm disc. The seat height is increased from 800mm to 830mm and now there is a side mounted exhaust system which gets a new 3-way catalytic converter. There’s a massive TFT LCD display that comes with an optional MyRide interface that lets you connect your smartphone to the bike. The engine on the 2017 390 KTM Duke remains the same as the previous model which means a 373.2cc engine that produces 43.5PS of power at 9,000rpm. What has changed are the torque figures that has gone up by a minor 3Nm. There’s a new ride-by-wire tech that KTM claims offers better throttle response. The 390 also features ABS as standard, while its other two siblings have it as an option.  The KTM 250 Duke looks similar to the 390 and features the same design elements that include a lightweight steel tubular chassis. The motor is a 248.76cc engine that produces 30PS and 24Nm of torque. What’s new here, is the side mounted exhaust. That leaves the KTM 200 Duke as the entry-level offering with a 200cc engine that belts out 25PS and 19.2Nm torque.
