by IBTimes, the Compass would be the ultimate Jeep offering for India, keeping in mind that the company wants to compete with offerings from Hyundai, Honda, Ford, Chevrolet and even bigger premium brands like BMW and Audi. The vehicle will be manufactured
locally (which should help bring down the price tag) at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ (FCA) Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra.
It will be rolled out to markets next year with a total of five engines options including three petrol and two diesel, across different markets globally. These include a 1.4 multiair turbo, a 1.6 and 2.0 turbo diesel, 2.4 tigershark petrol, 2.0 tigershark flex fuel (ethanol), and transmissions include a 6-speed manual/auto, and a 9 speed auto. It will feature a 3.5- or 7-inch LED driver information display (DID) instrument cluster, steering wheel with integrated audio, voice and speed controls. In terms of the exterior the legendary seven-slot grille gets a fresh look with individual chrome slots in a Gloss Black field.
