2017 Force Motors Gurkha launched at Rs 8.38 lakh; gets 85bhp BS IV-compliant engine

Force Motors has launched its 2017 Gurkha that brings a couple of new goodies like a BS-IV compliant engine, new body styles and some new trim names like the Xplorer and Xpedition. The two new body styles are priced differently with the five-door Xpedition priced at Rs 8.38 lakh while the smaller three-door model called the Xplorer, priced at Rs 9.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Along with the front bumper, there is a also a new grille design. In fact, all it now needs is a Mercedes logo on the front to complete the look of the G-Wagen. The cabin also sees a few changes. Noticeable ones include the new steering wheel design, a new gear lever and air-conditioning controls.  The three-door Force Motors Gurkha Xplorer is also available in a soft top (fabric) option while the Xpedition sticks to the hard top. What is configurable on the Xpedition is a choice of six seats or eight seats. Then there’s the 85bhp, 2.6-litre diesel engine that is now BS-IV compliant. The engine is paired with a five-speed transmission with 4WD that allows for low range and the locking of the front and rear differentials.
