The Alto is a very important car for Suzuki and with every model, the Japanese carmaker tries its best to up the game - either with space, features or the design. In fact, every model of the Alto has been so different from its predecessor that Maruti Suzuki has been able to milk the line by letting multiple models of the Alto co-exist in India at various points in its timeline. The 800, the Zen, the Zen Classic, the Alto, the A-star and even the Celerio - they’re all iterations of the Alto brand. The brand has a lot going for it - big space, a smart looking design, a decent features list and more importantly, the automated transmission. The only thing missing was a diesel option.
