Aug 19, 2012

Seven people were killed in Pakistan Sunday in US drone strikes targetting suspected militants.

At least two people were killed in a drone strike launched Sunday afternoon in tribal region of North Waziristan, Xinhua reported.

A report said that despite Pak’s efforts, US is least likely to discontinue drone strikes.

According to Pakistani TV channel Dunya, the attack occurred when two missiles were fired by US drones at a house suspected of being a militant hideout in North Waziristan’s Shawal area, some 70 km from Pakistan.

Earlier in the day, US drones fired four missiles at two vehicles suspected of carrying militants in the same area, killing at least five suspected militants on the spot.

On Saturday, US drones had fired four missiles targeting a house and a vehicle in Shawal area, killing six suspected militants and wounding two others.

A total of 184 people have been killed this year following 25 strikes carried out by the US drones.
