As the stand off between India and Pakistan on the LoC worsened, war opened on a new front: Social media. While #CowardModi trended on Twitter in Pakistan, a hacker claiming to be Indian, took down the Pakistan Railways website and threatened to “destroy the whole site” in a message to PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto. Calling himself Zukr@in, the hacker left a message mocking Bilawal for his recent statement on the Kashmir crisis. “You will never get kashmir Bilawal Bhutto! Next time if you ask Kashmir then really I will destroy the whole site,” said the message on the Pakistan Railways website. “Sala apna Pakistan nehi samal sakata ane chale kashmir lene. Bilawal sirf sapna dekhte reh ja (You can’t govern your Pakistan and you’ve come asking for Kashmir. Bilawal, you will be left dreaming),” said the message, mocking Bilawal. In August, hackers group Black Dragon Indian Hacker Online Squad claimed responsibility for hacking and defacing the website. “Hello, citizens of Pakistan; this site has been hacked. Years of injustice and misbehaviour and bloodshed from Kashmir in India by Pakistan. Big numbers of Indian websites including government are being hacked by your cyberbrothers,” said the message on the defaced site in August. Black Dragon targeted the PPP website yesterday as well. The website was hacked and a message for Bilawal showed on the page instead, mocking and telling the PPP leader that Kashmir would never go to Pakistan. The latest cyberattacks came after Bilawal raked up the 2002 Gujarat riots and tweeted saying that unlike the victims of the Gujarat riots, Pakistan would respond to Indian troops. “Another attack on LOC. seems India adopting Israle model vs Pakistan. Modi must realize we can retaliate unlike his victims from Gujarat,” he tweeted. This isn’t the first time that Bilawal has made comments on Kashmir. Recently, while addressing party workers in Punjab, Bilawal claimed that Kashmir belonged to Pakistan and that he would take all of it back from India. “I will take back Kashmir, all of it, and I will not leave behind a single inch of it because, like the other provinces, it belongs to Pakistan,” the scion of highly influential Bhutto family had said.
