After eight years, two terms and countless speeches, Wednesday morning saw Barack Obama's seventh and the final State of the Union Address.

And the US President used the platform to the fullest, attacking every opposition he has faced during his tenure with his powerful and quite patriotic speech. From the Republican policies to Donald Trump's position on Muslims, from Islamic State to Russia and China, Obama took on these contentious issues head on with his cleverly crafted words. His words were greeted by thunderous applause, (with the note bale exception of Paul Ryan) as he sought to assert America's international might and spark optimism for the future in the year of the elections.
