The ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, has seen Nokia make two big announcements for smartphones. It has launched two new Windows 8 Lumia devices, the Lumia 720 and the Lumia 520.
Nokia Lumia 720 is aimed at offering a high end camera experience, and comes with Nokia's latest music and navigation experiences. The Lumia 720 is aimed at China and India and should be available in Indian stores by Q2 of 2013. According to Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, China Mobile, the world's largest cellphone company, will sell both models in China soon.
Key features of the Lumia 720 are: It has a 4.3 inch WVGA LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 2.0 and Super Sensitive Touch which allows users to use the phone even with nail and gloves on. It has a 1.0 GHz Dual-core Snapdragon S4.
It has a 6.7 megapixel camera with F1.9 aperture and a Carl Zeiss lens which Nokia claims will offer the best picture taking experience. The camera has LED flash and is capable of HD video recording at 720 pixels at the rate of 30 frames per second. It has a Skype HD wide angle front camera with 1.3 megapixel range.
Nokia has just launched its flagship devices, the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, in India. The Lumia 920 will cost Rs 38,199 while the Lumia 820 will cost Rs 27,559. Both these phones will be available in stores from tomorrow. The Lumia 620 was also showcased at the Mumbai launch, however the device will hit the stores in February and the price for this was not revealed.
Key features of the Nokia Lumia 920 include a curved 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ screen, a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU with 1 GB RAM, 32 GB disk space and 7 GB storage in the cloud with SkyDrive for users.
Nokia also promises a bigger 2,000mAh battery which is expected to last 10 hours with 3G. The Lumia 920 has NFC, integrated wireless charging and an 8.7 megapixel rear PureView camera with HD video. The phone also has Super Sensitive Touch, which will let users handle their smartphone even while wearing gloves.

Nokia has launched its former flagship smartphone, the Lumia 900, rather quietly in India. The smartphone is available for Rs 32,999 on Flipkart, while Infibeam is selling the device for Rs 32,490.

The Lumia 900, which has a 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack glass touchscreen, and 8-megapixel camera, hasn't had a very successful run as the company was forced to cut the price of the device by nearly 50 percent in the US market.
Key features of the Nokia Lumia 900 include a single core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm processor, 512 MB RAM and 16 GB memory. There's also a 1 megapixel secondary camera in the front for video chat. Lumia 900 runs on Windows OS 7.5. Nokia also claims that the smartphone has all day battery life, up to 8 hours talk time, up to 400 hours standby.

The Nokia 720 also comes with apps like Cinemagraph, Smart Shoot and Glam Me. The device will be available in five colours. It will also comes with an optional wireless charging shell.
Finnish phone maker Nokia said its new Lumia smartphones, key to the company's hopes for recovery, will begin to appear in some European markets this week. Nokia late on Monday said its high-end Lumia 820 and 920 phones, which will run on Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 software, will this week, reach operators and retail outlets in France and Britain, and later in Russia and Germany as well as other select markets.
Good news for India fans as well. The list of 'other markets' also includes India. However Nokia has not yet revealed the India price for the Lumia 820 and 920.
In the United States, AT&T will start selling the devices in early November. Verizon Wireless will begin selling Lumia 822 and T-Mobile will offer Lumia 810, Nokia said.

Nokia's mid-range device, the Lumia 620 which was supposed to be launched in February 2013 has been delayed and will be launched in March. According to IBNLive, Nokia's spokesperson said, The Lumia 620 will definitely be available in the first week of March. The report also adds that the phone will be available for under Rs 20,000.
Meanwhile in an interview with the Economic Times, Nokia's senior vice president (India, Middle East & Africa) D Shivakumar has said that the company will lower the prices of its Windows-based Lumia smartphones to make them affordable for consumers in India. You can read the full interview here.
