New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today asked Congress MLAs to speed up development works in their respective areas and highlight the good work done by the government among the people of the city.
At a Congress Legislature Party meeting, Dikshit also directed all her ministerial colleagues to regularly interact with the party MLAs to ensure effective implementation of various welfare schemes.
New Delhi:Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, a vocal critic of Delhi police, said her own daughter does not feel safe in the city. My own daughter feels unsafe in the city, Dikshit said, reacting to thelaw and order situation, especially on safety of women in the capital.
Admitting that statistics on crime against women are shocking, she said the challenge will have to be faced with courage and determination.
New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today described as inhuman and shameful the rape of a seven-year-old girl inside a municipal school in the city.
The incident is inhuman and shameful. It is a shocking incident. The municipal corporation must strengthen their existing security infrastructure in the schools, she said.
The Class-II student was sexually assaulted inside the North Delhi Municipal Corporation-run primary school in Mongolpuri L Block allegedly by an unidentified man. The incident came to light at around 9 AM today when her parents informed police about it.
