Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest software services exporter in India, posted better-than-expected earnings, giving a further boost to investors' confidence in Indian information technology companies. The company said its net profit for October-December stood at Rs 3552 crore, up 1.1 percent on quarter, and revenue at Rs 16,069.9 crore, up 3 percent. Analysts on an average had expected the company's profit after tax to go down by 3 percent quarter-on-quarter to Rs 3,410 crore in the quarter, according to a CNBC-TV18 poll.
