Six National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) plants are facing shutdown due to severe shortage of coal stock, it has been reported.According to an Indian Express report, NTPC Ltd, in a letter written by its chairman and managing director Arup Roy Choudhury to the Power Ministry, said that the six plants, with a total generation capacity of 17,000 MW, have reached at a critical level of coal" sufficient for less than two days."It is pertinent to mention that with the ensuing monsoon, it will become more difficult to replenish the coal stock and in case of even a small disruption, the...
