Mumbai: Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders' skipper Gautam Gambhir and India opener Shikhar Dhawan could miss the first few matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The opening batsman was in contention to replace the injured Shikhar Dhawan for the fourth and the final Test in Delhi but was ruled out after he was diagnosed with jaundice on Tuesday.
Australian speedster Brett Lee, who spearheads the Kolkata Knight Riders' pace attack, today replaced Pakistan great Wasim Akram as the team's bowling mentor.
Lee, who has retired from international cricket, will shoulder the twin responsibilities in the upcoming Indian Premier League scheduled to be held in April-May.

Cape Town: Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir yesterday admitted that it was indeed very disappointing not to have qualified for the semifinals of the Champions League Twenty20.
It is very disappointing not to have qualified for the semifinals but this is not the end of the world. We will definitely come back stronger in the next edition of the Indian Premier League, Gambhir said at the post-match presentation
ceremony.
The skipper was however happy that his team produced a solid performance to defeat the Nashua Titans.
