A Balinese government official administers injections to chickens as a means of culling them as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of bird flu, at a market in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia on Thursday, April 26, 2012. An eight-year-old boy died from bird flu in a Bali hospital on Tuesday night. Bird flu began ravaging poultry in 2003 and has killed over three-hundred people worldwide. While the number of poultry outbreaks has greatly diminished since then, it is still present in some areas of Asia and the Middle East. Indonesia has been the hardest-hit country, accounting for nearly half of the deaths.
