Alok Agarwal, Director-Marketing, eBay India told The Hindu “We are delighted to provide Indian consumers access to the ZTE Open, a popular smartphone which is a great option for first-time smart phone users. This was exclusively available on eBay in the U.S. and the U.K., and is now available in India.” The smartphone has a Cortex A5 processor clocked at 1 Ghz with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. This is one of the most basic processors for smartphones, according to ARM. It has a 512 MB ROM, 256 MB RAM and the memory is expandable to 32 GB via a microSD card. The smartphone supports 2G, 3G and and WiFi and of course runs the free FireFox OS. It has a 1200 mAh battery. It also has a 2 megapixel rear camera. The FireFox OS allows developers to build apps powered by open Web standards (like HTML5, JavaScript and CSS).
