At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India awoke to the good news that Netflix is (legally) coming to our shores.
The popular video-streaming site, that has become synonymous with online viewing globally, launched operations in India on Wednesday. With plans starting at Rs 500 per month and two other plans priced at Rs 650 and Rs 800, Netflix India seems to be good option for the idiot-box addicts in India.
Predictably, Indians on the internet celebrated this news enthusiastically. From logging in and creating their Netflix accounts ASAP to avail of the free first month offer to taking potshots at the 'sanskaari' censor board's reaction to the online streaming site, Twitter was abuzz with #NetflixIndia jokes.
Here is the best of Indian Twittearti's reactions to Netflix in India.
